Role Insight: Static Security Guards

September 26, 2017

Static security is one of the services we offer here at CAP Security Services. If you’ve ever wondered what it takes to  become a static security guard or considered security for your business, we’ve put together some information to help you better understand the role of a static security guard.

The responsibilities of a static security guard may include traffic control, armed guarding, gate keeping, patrolling and CCTV monitoring. They prevent trespassing, vandalism and a large range of other offences in and around businesses and work sites. Some of these sites include, but are not limited to shopping centres, car parks, construction developments, office buildings, theme parks and museums.

Not only is it their responsibility to monitor visitors to the venue, but also to monitor staff and their practices. They ensure appropriate safety measures are consistently met. They can also assess potential hazards and respond to emergencies.

Much like event security, static security must work effectively to prevent unfavourable incidents and take correct measures if any situations arise.

One of the greatest benefits of a static security guard is the opportunity for extended employment at a given site. They become accustomed to the routines of the business or venue, which allows them to be fully ingrained in company operations.

Static security guards are incredibly versatile and can provide vital services to a variety of businesses. Our team of static security guards are well versed with the latest in Public Liability and Safety legislation. We ensure this through the implementation of our internal training system which is reviewed regularly.
