What’s Ahead for CAP Security Services in 2020

A new day, a new year, a new decade. CAP Security have been operating for almost 30 years now but we’re as excited as ever about the prospect of a new year. The CAP Security Services team is delighted to be providing static security, crowd and traffic control, event security and event service solutions across Queensland for another year in 2020. Here’s what we’ve got in store with some of our clients:

Suncorp Stadium

Suncorp Stadium will host eight Queensland Red home games in the 2020 Super Rugby season, and the Broncos will have their first home game of 13 games for the season on March 20 against the Rabbitohs. 

Our Mighty Maroons will take on NSW in State of Origin Game 3 on home soil on July 8, and we’re looking forward to some heart-stopping international clashes between our Wallabies and Ireland on July 4, and our bitter rivals, the All Blacks, on October 17. 

Suncorp Stadium will again deliver some spectacular concert events in 2020, starting with Queen and Adam Lambert’s epic Rhapsody Tour on February 13th. Keep an eye on our FB page for more concert announcements here.  And see Suncorp’s 2020 line-up here.

Cbus Super Stadium

We can’t wait to start work at Cbus Super Stadium in 2020! Our first gig is the Harvey Norman Rugby League All Stars on February 22, a decade after the inaugural match was played at the same stadium. We’ll also be there for all Gold Coast Titans games throughout the NRL season. Check the schedule here.

Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre

The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre will host world-class events once again this year, from the King of Documentaries, Louis Theroux, in January, to Saturday Night Live’s Tracy Morgan in May, and Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix in August. Plus there’s a huge line-up of expo’s including Brisbane’s Annual Wedding Expo. the World Travel Expo, the Home Show and more.  Check it out here.

The Gabba

The Gabba will continue its long history of outstanding cricket action in 2020 with both Brisbane Heat and Queensland Bulls facing their opponents at this hallowed venue. Brisbane Heat will bring it in the Big Bash League, starting by facing off against the Hobart Hurricanes on January 9. The Bulls will face both the Tasmania Tigers and Victorian Bushrangers in February. 

And of course we’ll be there for every Brisbane Lions game throughout the season, from their first home game against the North Melbourne Kangaroos on March 28th. See what else is on at The Gabba here.  


We’re thrilled to see The Book of Mormon heading back down under by popular demand. The musical praised as “the funniest of all time” by the New York Times will be back at QPAC from January 3. For the rest of 2020 QPAC has an esteemed lineup of music, dance and comedy including Anh Do’s The Happiest Refugee Alive and Russel Brand’s Recovery Live in February, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical in March, comedic favourite Carl Barron in April, and Billy Elliot the Musical in July,. For ballet lovers, QPAC has a gorgeous line up throughout the year with highlights including QLD Ballet’s The Sleeping Beauty and Paris Opera Ballet’s Swan Lake. Check their full event line-up here.

Nissan Arena

The Queensland Firebirds will enter another season of incredible gameplay in 2020. Make sure you grab tickets to a game and see why they’re the most successful elite netball side in Australian history. They’ll be sharing their Nissan Arena home with the Brisbane Bullets in 2020. The Bullets will come up against Perth Wildcats on January 5 to christen the courts for the year. Check the schedule here.


This esteemed venue will be home to a variety of significant local, national and international artworks for everyone to enjoy, as well as host for a number of prestigious events, again this year. A Day on the Green

Sirromet Wines continues to host A Day on the Green and deliver great food, wine and entertainment for Queenslanders. The line-up this summer is ridiculously good and CAP Security Services is looking forward to keeping the crowds safe at Elton John in January, Cold Chisel in February and a-ha and Rick Astley in March. Later in the year rockin’ Rod Stewart, James Blunt and Simple Minds will be thrilling crowds at Sirromet. Check the lineup here

Brisbane Racing Club

Brisbane Racing Club will host events week in and week out, from the Girls Day Out in February, the action won’t stop at Doomben and Eagle Farm Racecourses all year long. Check out the raceday calendar here.

Queensland Country Bank Stadium

Townsville will be graced with the presence of the man, the legend, Sir Elton John, in February at the all-new Queensland Country Bank Stadium. And the venue will also be home to the North Queensland Cowboys during the 2020 NRL season. We’re looking forward to a great year for our Cowboys at their new home.  See the line-up of events here.
